WhatsApp Unveils Advanced Privacy Option for Chats

META-owned WhatsApp is preparing to launch a new feature designed to limit chat sharing and enhance user privacy in communication.

Slated for release in an upcoming update, this feature will be included in WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.25.10.14, accessible through the Google Play Store.

The widely-used messaging app’s new advanced chat privacy feature will enable users to prevent media from automatically saving to their device’s gallery.

While this option was previously limited to disappearing chats, WhatsApp is now expanding it to include users who choose to activate the forthcoming advanced privacy setting.

The feature will offer a range of privacy protections, including the ability to block the export of entire chat histories. As a result, WhatsApp will restrict exporting chats involving users who have enabled this particular privacy feature.

This update is intended to protect private conversations and stop unauthorized data transfers, reinforcing the platform’s commitment to user confidentiality.

In a separate update, WhatsApp also introduced a feature that lets users add temporary music clips to their profile updates.

This new functionality aims to make status updates more personalized and dynamic, offering users a more interactive experience.

Being rolled out globally, the feature will become available to all users over the next few weeks.

The temporary music clips option allows users to include short audio tracks in their WhatsApp profile updates, much like the Stories feature on Facebook and Instagram.
