WhatsApp Introduces Temporary Music Clips for Profile Updates
WhatsApp, the globally renowned messaging app, has launched an exciting new feature that lets users add temporary music clips to their profile updates.
This creative addition is designed to elevate the user experience by making status updates more dynamic and personalized.
Currently rolling out globally, the feature is expected to be available to all users in the coming weeks.
The new functionality allows users to embed short audio clips in their WhatsApp profile updates, much like the Stories feature seen on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
How the Feature Works
The temporary music clips are integrated into WhatsApp’s status feature, located under the “WhatsApp Updates” tab.
Users can already share text, photos, and videos that vanish after 24 hours. With this update, they can now include music to further customize their status.
How to Add Music to Your WhatsApp Status:
- Open WhatsApp and go to the “Updates” tab.
- Tap the camera icon labeled “Add Status” to begin a new update.
- Select a photo or video from your gallery, or capture one using the camera.
- Tap the music note icon at the top of the screen to access the music library.
- Browse and choose a song, then select a portion of the track to feature.
- For photo statuses, the music can play for up to 15 seconds.
- For video statuses, users can choose a clip of up to 60 seconds.
- Adjust the music sticker placement as needed.
- Post your status update with the selected music clip.
The music library includes licensed tracks similar to those available on Instagram. Availability may vary due to licensing agreements.
Currently, WhatsApp does not support uploading personal music files to status updates.
This music clips feature is part of WhatsApp’s ongoing strategy to boost user engagement by introducing more interactive and customizable tools.
