Sindh allocates funds for new vehicles for commissioners, DCs

The Sindh government has approved the procurement of new 2755cc vehicles for commissioners, ARY News reported on Monday.

According to a notification issued by the Sindh Finance Department, a total of Rs522.6 million will be allocated for the purchase of new government vehicles.


Out of this amount, five commissioners across Sindh will receive new vehicles valued at Rs100.8 million.

In addition, the Sindh government has decided to provide new Revo Dala vehicles to all 29 deputy commissioners throughout the province.

According to the budget notification, Revo vehicles worth Rs401.5 million will be procured for the deputy commissioners.

On March 28, the constitutional bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC) dismissed a petition that challenged the procurement of 138 double-cabin vehicles intended for assistant commissioners in the province.

Earlier, on September 5, the Sindh government had decided to acquire new vehicles worth Rs2 billion for assistant commissioners.

As per details, the General Administration Department of Sindh wrote a letter to the Finance Department requesting the release of Rs2 billion to purchase double-cabin vehicles for 138 assistant commissioners.

Following this development, Jamaat-e-Islami filed a petition in the High Court challenging the Sindh government's decision.
